Paint Therapy needed

Yesterday was one of those days you wish you go back in time to avoid. I am still suffering the tail end of a sickness bug that leaves you drained physically and mentally, then this weekend my WW came down with it too so she was not in work on Monday. I had a pile of painting to complete and the Zulu war commission to varnish and post off. My FB friends will know whats coming (BTW if you are on FB feel free to send me a request) I varnished the figures first thing and went to get them after lunch only to find the varnish had gone cloudy. The rest of Monday was spent trying every trick I know to fix the error but with no success by evening I admitted defeat and contacted my customer, we have come to an agreement that I will not go into but I hope will be agreeable with both parties.
So today I could not face a commission so picked out one of my Copplestone Miniatures I am doing for Ebay and I spent a great few hours this evening painting this guy who is a NOT Brendon Frasier from the Mummy films. This guy and the Swede will be hitting Ebay tonight.

Painting Update

I have been under the weather for a few days with out going into details I will just say its good my painting room is near my bathroom :)
I have been a busy boy though and progressed several different projects, I have tow more Pulp Fiction Spys completed plus the next Ebay figure (Wee Wullie). I have been busy painting more Masi Warriors but did not get them photographed.
Today I dashed over to Foundry and met up with Loki, I now have my wargames boards and they are fantastic, I spent an hour chatting to the Foundry boys about Blog-Con and will compose a post about that over on the Blog-Con blog tonight or tomorrow.
Anyway had a mad dash around the house this afternoon finding documents so I could act as a guarantor for my daughter's rental flat, it is all sorted now and she picks up her keys on Monday (no painting for me that day then lots of box lugging)
Anyway enough chat on to some nice completed figures.

African Flesh and more for Ebay

I have been busy working out how best to paint some African flesh for a commission I am doing, I am very happy with how it turned out. I used a dark brown base the used shadows flesh as the mid tone and added a bit of red/brown to it for highlights.

As I was working on this flesh I completed the flesh on a couple of more projects, the first of my Dux B Saxons and two more of Curt's Pulp fiction plus another Warlord Games special model heading to Ebay when complete.

Taking about Ebay, I have another figure heading that way this week, a nice AWI Officer.

Pulp Fiction Goodness

Been busy working my way through the Pulp Fiction figures from Carl. I have finished another group of guards but how practical it would be for your guards to be in high heeled white boots I am not too sure. But that may be why I am a jobbing figure painter and not a megalomaniac evil boss planning to take over the world (we have Fran and Ray for that ). I also completed a young blonde spy figure on which I have tried a pin stripe suit.

So another unit complete....or so I thought, one draw back of a busy painting table is as I was clearing space to set up my photo background I found the below figure trying to be an Indian from the French and Indian Wars. She is now completed and back on duty.

Painting Desk Progress

So after a weekend of gaming at the seaside and a Monday refreshing my FLT license at work on days it was only this morning when I returned to my painting desk. While Saturday was a day dedicated to the B for C game and nailing down the details Sunday was a day of chatting and SAGA, I had a game against Kev and after Loki took on my old man (shown below).
So a very satisfying weekend was spend at my Mum and Dads and a big thank you to them and Kev and Loki. So today I have been busy painting several different projects, I worked on some AW Miniatures Indians (no pictures) and my Dad's next lot of Vikings. I slapped a bit of paint on the next lot of Carl's Pulp Fiction figures and lastly a few on going commissions. Below are pictures of the current state of all projects.

Lastly I have a few pictures of the next figure to make its way to ebay its a nice Warlord Games Roman General.

not much more to say guys, I have a few long week's at work as my team leader is off on his holidays so I have to cover both shifts Sun-Thu and Mon-Fri meaning 6 nights for me while making family time a bit shorter it has little effect on the painting time as I tend to paint in the evening before getting ready for work.
Peace James

Loki's SAGA Irish

Loki and I have a little Community Currency trade on the go I am painting and providing an Irish SAGA force and Loki is kitting me out with wargames terrain so I can once again game at home. I had agreed to create a 6pts SAGA force but once I started I got a little carried away and have ended up painting 9pts. The Irish can swap Hearthguard for champions so one unit of 4 Hearthguard are painted as 4 champion figures so he has the choice. In total he has one Levy slingers, 2 javelin/spear armed Warriors and 1 Irish wolfhound unit (act as warriors). In total there are 5 Hearthguard units one which is 4 champions and 6 of them have Dane axes. I finished off with a figure that when looking at research looks to have been modeled on a picture of the king of Ireland and a little diorama with a leader and his faithful Hound and Druid.
And now to the pictures first unit is the unit of champions, and at the end is a group shot. I will pack them up tomorrow and they will travel up with me to Morecambe where I am meeting up with Loki and Kev at my Dad's so we can do a run through of the BforC game (you never know the odd game of SAGA may happen)

On top of all the work on the SAGA Irish I am trying to complete a hearthguard unit for my Dads Vikings so he can up his force to 6pts (using some celt slingers we already have). I am working on a couple of Leaders too.

I have also completed the Banana Bunch Guards
