Welcome to the age of Air

I am 1/3rd of the way through my ECW cav commission so felt happy enough to go out and spend the money. I have been looking at getting an air brush for awhile so that is just what I did, I have looked at several on line stores but in the end decided to support my local hobby store ABC Modelsports
I will be getting used to the brush and you should see some of my handy work on here soon. On to what I have been painting the last few days, as I said in my last post my first entry for Euromilitaire is well on its way and the latest shots are below.

Next on the table will be a 120mm SAS figure from www.120mini.com this is for me to practice on the larger scale before I paint a WW2 Para for Euro. Also I have a fantastic bust of a 24th Regt Zulu war figure which I picked up from El Greco
Both of these figures are show below, they are both being prepared for me by my good mate Shane as I am a little lacking in the skills of prep but am getting better.
Well i have to go get ready for work now but will see you again as soon as i have anything worth saying
BTW the Ebays sales did not do very well so for now I will knock them on the head and stick to picking up a few commissions

Peace James

Quick Week

I swear I blinked and missed this week, I did get my order from Foundrys new website very nice colonial figures two regt. For now they have gone onto the shelves to be painted later, I am getting near the end on my first entry for Euromilitare I will post some pictures as soon as I charge my camera. I started the ECW cav for my commission and have only 2 units left to complete my army in a month challenge.
So I guess it may have been a quick week but I got loads done.

Good Show

I have to confess that I got half way to the wargames show on Saturday and remembered I had left my camera at home so no pictures. I found the show good, I do not think the demo games were fantastic more just clubs taking the chance to play a big game. The traders were worth the trip on there own, I had been looking at some hard plastic Greek Hoplites with an idea of building a WAB army so when I saw one trader selling the box's for only £14 it was rude not to buy them. I also picked up a starter box of Warlord Games Romans which was only £45 for over 100 figures, these I will paint up and sell on Ebay or at a show. I am starting on the ECW Cav today and have only 3 units left on the army challenge I set myself. The only dark cloud is that I can not find anywhere that does the glue sticks for my glue gun, plenty of places do the larger sticks but my gun was a hobby one, still I will work out some way to attach the figures to my painting stick.
Anyway off to do some painting now keep safe.

Postie calling

Don't you just love it when the postie shows up with a box of figures, well today I got double trouble. I got the renegade ECW cav for the commission job and also some 15mm ancients which I am reviewing for the Wamp forum.

Then I found that Wargames Foundry have revamped their website and have a sale on (all it would take is England to beat Australia in the morning and I might burst). I was having a good browse of the new site and found the picture above, what about it I hear you ask. It is all the work of yours truly from the early 00,s when I did my one and only job for them, they had a lot of new painters at the time and I guess I lost out but I was happy with the job and how cool to see them back on the web site.

Tomorrow I and picking up my friend from the Wamp forum Shane and hitting the Phalanx wargames show in its 18 year now, as I have a bit of commission money I might even treat myself either way I will get some pictures and post them here for you to see.

That's all for now folks Peace James

Back on the Bandwagon

Well it was a good weekend for me and my painting. I picked up a nice big commission job for a load of ECW renegade miniatures, I have 54 cav and 96 inf to do they will just be a basic paint job and my client will base them himself.
http://coolminiornot.com/236491 this is my own ECW pike block and the paint will be along these lines.
Beyond my commission I have been rattling on with my own figures and have over half of my Punic army done. On top of all this I am also well into my 54mm figure for Euro militaire. I will add pictures as soon as I get them uploaded.

And so it begins

Welcome to my painting blog, I am not sure how good I will be about updating this but hope to keep it going. I am working on improving my painting, and trying new scales and styles. But I guess I am best at painting whole armies to a high tabletop standard, at the moment I have set myself a little challenge to get a WAB army finished in the next few weeks, if I can then it will be left with my Dad who will base them up. The figures are mainly Gripping Beast with 48 celts from Renegade Miniatures and 24 african spearmen from 1st Corp, it is a Carthaginian army which oddly is the first ever army I painted well back in 15mm.
Anyway i have a WIP thread going on my regular painters forum Wamp http://www.wamp-forum.com/VB4/showthread.php?2977-Exiles-Army-in-a-month
Here are a few pictures of my current works plus my workspace where the magic happens
